HLC Committees

The Honors Leadership Council (HLC) is a collection of students that serves to enhance the overall John H. Martinson Honors Program experience. HLC is involved with student life throughout the year. They act as guides during the New Student Retreat when students first move in, and they run different programs and events throughout the year.

In addition to the dedicated students on HLC, we also have a team of JMHP student assistants, who you can read about here.

There are four committees in HLC:

CIVIC SERVICE

The Civic Service Committee works with on-campus and off-campus partners to foster civic and community stewardship and further JMHP's mission.

Responsible for internal and external outreach
Establish relations with campus partners and further integrate the John H. Martinson Honors Program into the Georgia Tech community
Partner with organizations and corporations in the Atlanta area to encourage community engagement

COMMUNITY BUILDING

The Community Building Committee helps plan and execute events and programming for JMHP students. They are responsible for the yearly HProm, solicit input from JMHP students on events and programming, and promote the JMHP through social media.

Plan and execute HProm each spring semester
Plan and execute events that promote interaction between all years of John H. Martinson Honors Program students

NEW STUDENT ONBOARDING

The New Student Onboarding Committee is responsible for the recruitment and orientation of new JMHP students. They assist with the admissions process, provide mentoring for new students, and plan the August new student retreat.

Plan and execute the JMHP Retreat each fall semester
Establish mentorship program for first year students
Attend and assist with recruitment events
Evaluate applications for new JMHP members
